Trust in This Trust? Why the Supporters’ Trust Is a Damp Squib
Dear readers. Today we dissect the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust. An organisation that calls itself “independent” yet accomplishes about as much as a rusting turnstile.
For starters, THST repeatedly demanded a meeting with Spurs’ board to discuss long‑term strategy. You know what happened? Daniel Levy and Co, politely told them to take a seat, and left the tea untouched. The board refused. Twice. The noble Trust boards twiddled thumbs.
Then there’s their annual survey, audaciously labelled the “largest independent barometer of fan opinion”which finds only 7% confident in the owners’ strategy, and roughly 80% urging change in ownership or governance. Ticket prices again top grievances, with 50 % dissatisfied and only 22 % satisfied. THST launches a “call to action,” then passes the baton to forever‑frustrated supporters.
Their AGM in February 2025 reaffirmed lofty “principles” like commit to winning, future‑proof youth, fans first, yada yada. Admirable rhetoric. But when push came to shove? The Trust still has no seat at the boardroom table, no leverage, and no obvious plan beyond writing polite letters.
Worse, when Spurs signed a dubious partnership with Socios, a blockchain token company that has lost fans money, the Trust squeaked “concern” instead of blasting the move into oblivion. No protest marches. No high‑decibel calls for accountability. Just mild disappointment.
In short, the Supporters’ Trust exists as a pressure valve: a club‑sanctioned, safe‑space for moral outrage that never escalates into meaningful change.
Frank’s Verdict: Enough. It’s time for a new voice. I back Change for Tottenham—a grassroots real‑fan movement unashamedly demanding ENIC and Levy go, advocating for fan directors with actual voting rights, pushing for football decisions over boardroom profit. Spurs should once again be a football club, not a property investment portfolio.
Trust the Trust? I don’t. We need action, not words. And this season, I’ll be rooting not just for goals, but for a club that actually listens. On that front, Frank is rooting for Change for TottenhamChange for Tottenham and against another polite survey and a half‑thought apology.

For those of you who like your outrage sourced and your cynicism footnoted, I present the evidence. I don’t deal in conspiracy — just incompetence.
